From policy breakthroughs to emerging technologies and bold new alliances, the Sustainable Aviation Futures Congress in Amsterdam brought together the global aviation decarbonisation community for three powerful days of discussion, insight, and momentum.

Hosted in the historic Beurs van Berlage, this year’s Congress was packed with expert-led panels and presentations, deep-dive masterclasses, and networking conversations that continued long after the sessions ended. Across LinkedIn attendees have been buzzing about the mix of airlines, fuel producers, investors, airports, regulators, and technology leaders committed to navigating aviation’s most urgent challenge: reaching net zero.

The ReFuelEU Aviation mandate featured throughout discussions, with attendees noting the critical importance of regulatory certainty to unlock investment, while also sharing growing recognition that SAF is can be a cost-effective, scalable solution, especially in Europe’s evolving policy environment.

The Congress also put a spotlight on innovative technologies. Masterclass sessions shared compelling contrail avoidance research, underlining the increasing role of non-CO2 strategies in climate mitigation. Project SkyPower reinforced the need for new financial mechanisms, international cooperation, and market intermediaries to fund the next wave of eSAF deployment.

As always, collaboration was highlighted as a key contributor to the industry’s success: beyond technologies and mandates the industry and the Congress are about people.  From the Women in SAF lunch to critical initiatives like Call Aviation to Action, attendees found huge value in the chance to connect and reflect.

If you missed the Amsterdam Congress, don’t worry, Sustainable Aviation Futures North America is just around the corner this October in Houston. Join us there to drive SAF towards full scale take off.
